Important Service Tips
What do I do if I smell propane?
- No flames or sparks - immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames.
- Leave the area immediately - Get everyone out of the building or area where you suspect gas is leaking.
- Shut off the gas - If possible, shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).
- Report the Leak - Call us at 225-3000 right away. Make sure you are out of the house.
- Do not return to the house or area until we determine that it is safe to go back in.
- Get your system checked - Before your system is put back into service, we will need to do a system check (leak test) to ensure that your system is in safe working order.
What do I do if I do not have any heat or hot water?
Your oil burner should give you a minimum amount of trouble, but in the case it does, you should follow the steps below prior to calling us:
- Be certain that you have oil in your tank.
- Is your emergency switch “ON”? Usually this is the switch with a RED plate cover.
- Your thermostat must be set higher than the room temperature; otherwise your oil burner will run for domestic hot water only.
- Press your “RESET” button (only once) on the front of your boiler and release.
- Check your breaker panel.
- Call us at 225-3000
